Is It Practically Possible to Turn Your Life Around in 6 Months?
Absolutely, yes, and especially today!
I’m the living example of how 6 months is enough time to pivot and restart your life. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Diplomacy, only to pursue a corporate job at National Geographic in China. Then, I left my job when COVID swept the globe, and I moved to London to start a digital agency.
Today, I live better from the work I build online than I can earn in a regular job, even if it is a prestigious government position.
The catch: Time from Master’s Degree to Starting a digital agency was only 18 months.
What else changed during the last 18 months? Everything.
I don’t drink anymore.
I eat healthier, cook my meals, and exercise every morning.
I’m in a happy and fruitful relationship.
I read books every morning.
I exercise daily.
I wrote 2 books.
I started the company.
I’m running a digital publication.
I moved across 3 countries (Croatia was there too).
Six months is plenty to turn one life around, but don’t set your expectations too high.
“Most people overestimate what they can do in a year, and they underestimate what they can do in two or three decades.” — Tony Robbins
Create systems that can keep you moving forward even if you fail. Lear, adapt and build. Shake your bad habits and build good ones. If you’re constantly writing every day, you’re bound to write something good eventually. Aim to write every day, not to produce the best piece of writing. If you want to lose weight, focus on staying more active and eating fewer calories instead of being Victoria's Secret runway model.
Creating a system helps to keep you motivated even when you’re not.
I’m fully aware that my effectiveness is only possible because I don’t have kids, sick parents, and I’m able-bodied. When you start a family, you can’t take the same risk of flying across the globe to try a “new thing.”
Stay humble, and aim for the best.
